We source the finest free range kangaroo leather, treat it with vegetable dye, and cut, shape, strap and finish to the highest specification.

Currently in prototype and undergoing our rigorous testing procedures, the initial micro range will be available to wear Northern Summer / Southern Winter 2012.

A bit about us

Klezinski (kla-szin-ski) is a multi-disciplinary design practice based in London and Melbourne, (re)established in 2010 by brother / sister team Tim Tropp & Willow Berzin.

Klezinski is a tribute to their great-great-grandfather, a pioneering tailor in the late 19th Century.

What we’re doing now

Currently Klezinski is busy prototyping their first products.

Klezinski doesn’t believe in mass consumerables or throwaway culture. We are choosing wherever possible to use hand-made methods and to utilise sustainable manufacturing processes and materials.

Some more History

Hyman Klezinski was a tailor from Byalistock, Poland. He moved to London in the 1870‘s to further refine his craft in Savile Row, the golden mile of tailoring. To make life easier, he made the difficult decision to change his surname to Harris.

Being both adventurous in spirit and highly ambitious, he moved to Melbourne in 1876, at the time the richest city in the world. From his shop in Collins Street he became well-known for the unsurpassed quality of his work. His client list grew to include the elite of the city, including the Governor of the Colony of Victoria.

Tropp & Berzin have founded Klezinski in honour of their pioneering great-great-grandfather. Klezinski reinstates a name that was lost to history, and continues the proud tradition of bespoke & hand-crafted apparel.

The Association

There’s been something percolating in London for a while now: the scent of great coffee being roasted and served. A world apart from the dirty dishwater most chain coffee shops pass off as coffee, this is slowly changing the palette for those who never knew what real coffee tasted like.

London Coffee Project has just opened its first independent coffee store The Association in the Square Mile.

As branding consultants we were also invited to design and make the staff uniforms.

Owner Sam Mason has a background in engineering. As with all the details in the cafe, he has given meticulous care and attention to form, function and aesthetic. Sam also took great interest in the engineering of the specially designed apron for the baristas.

Tech spec:
- 100% Cotton Drill, made in Italy
- Leather components; vintage kangaroo, edges polished with news print and sealed with bees-wax
- Metal components powder coated
- Elastic and vintage polished cotton shoe lace tea and coffee stained. Aglets on cotton lace have been bound in linen thread and sealed in Gesso.

Unified Theory

Could there ever be a Unified Theory of Everything? What would it look like?

Investigating microscopic chemicals (sugar, testosterone, tobacco), the elements, minerals, rocks, and mathematical shapes of the quadrivium, this is a visual experiment looking at the macro and micro of physical things.

Using reclaimed materials with silk-screened and embroidered illustrations on vintage pre war Hungarian linen, this range explores ideas of cosmology, cosmogony, quantum theory and philosophy illustrated on soft furnishings, wall paper and limited edition prints on paper.
